Privacy Policy
Nomi Nom is an iPhone app for NYC restaurant inspection results, made by Bo, an independent developer. This policy explains what the app collects and why.
Nomi Nom has no ads, no analytics, and no crash reporting. We do not sell your data or use it to track you across other apps or websites.
Your account
When you open the app, it creates an anonymous account so your saves work without signing in.
If you choose Sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple user ID and the email address you share with Apple, which may be a private relay address. We do not request your name.
Location
If you allow location access, the app uses your location to show the map around you and find nearby restaurants. Your location is sent to our server to run those searches and is not stored. You can turn off location access at any time in the iPhone Settings app.
Saves, lists, and settings
Restaurants you save, your lists, and your notification setting are stored on our server and linked to your account, so they stay with you across phones when you sign in.
Recent searches stay on your phone and are not sent to us.
Notifications
If you turn on notifications, we store your device’s push token to send inspection notifications. Notifications are delivered through Expo’s push service and the Apple Push Notification service.
Service providers
- Supabase hosts our database and accounts.
- Google Maps displays the map. Google may collect information under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Expo delivers push notifications and app updates. The app checks Expo’s servers for updates, which shares basic technical details such as the app version and platform.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple and push notification delivery.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account exists.
If you signed in with Apple, go to Settings, then Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, saves, lists, and settings.
If you use Nomi Nom without signing in, your saves and lists are stored under a random ID that is not linked to your name or email. To delete them, sign in with Apple in Settings, then choose Delete account. This removes your saves, lists, and notification settings.
Children
Nomi Nom is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
